Pencil vs. Camera: I enjoyed this project in the way you blend a free-handed drawing and a photo using photoshop. It was not easy to line them up exactly but tried to do it accurately enough by drawing off the screen and had to redraw the third image twice. I like the project because we had no boundries and could use old images we had. My most successful I feel is the jeep I have never drawn a vehicle before and it was fun trying. My worst was probably the first one I wish I would have chose a different design but I was running out of time however I do like the fact it looks like i'm facing the same way as the picture.
Digital Design 19th amendment project: This project was very fun in the ways we had to piece together our drawn images in photoshop with reusable/shareable content off the internet. I really enjoy the silhouette with red, yellow, and white lettering against the subtle blue background. The red lips really worked well with the use of text to put Vote into the lips. In this project celebrating the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment, the lips emphasize the voice that was giving to woman through the movement and up until now. The only difficulty I faced during this project was creating the silhouette for the hairstyle; there were not a lot of shareable images that conveyed the hairstyle of the time period.
Famous Faces and Quotes: I enjoyed this project because it was self expressive and the new process of putting text in made it a lot easier. When I took this class my sophomore year the text process had a lot of steps that only worked half the time which was frustrating. I feel more confident in these portraits and especially happy with how my Historical/; Teddy Roosevelt turned out as far as his facial features go. I would change Billie Eilish's picture but really none of them wrapped the text in better than this one so I just went with this picture. I love the Robin William's picture because it connects with me on a personal level. All my life I have strived to make people smile and feel like they belong here, when I have been at my worst with no one there to lift me up and tell me it's gonna be alright.
Animal Mixology: I enjoyed the creativity and imagination this project took. It challenged me to look at normal animals differently by taking the everyday cute fluff and turning it into something horrifying like my Sprowl. My Sprowl consists of an owl body , spider eyes, and goat horns to give a demonic twists to the bird of prey. I liked the process of taking away from the picture we took however, the smudge tool was difficult in blending so I mostly had to rely on cloning. My least favorite image is the Borse because I kept trying to find a bunny with a similar white coat as the pony but every picture was either off a little of too small to work with which was the only real challenging part of the project.
Face Swapping: I did not particularly enjoy this assignment because it was tough to blend the features. It was also challenging in the way you needed the same background. Also for everyone to face the same way in the same position. This is a very fun and expressive project though and that part i enjoyed. We were able to familiarize ourselves with other students. I would recommend this as a beginning project to get the class as students more comfortable with each other and build confidence as a class.
Comic Strip: This project was very challenging in many ways. I struggled getting the shapes and props but was able to recreate the things I needed in Photoshop. I am especially proud of how I transferred the costumes for the 25%. One thing I am not happy with is the last panel I had trouble containing the orange but I feel I did really good with creating the hat and adding color to bring out certain points in the comic. The project overall was really fun though and made me laugh a lot especially when adding the eyes to dramatize the two main panels telling the story.
ABC'S of MCHS: This project was challenging, yet fun because it wasn't easy finding naturally occuring letters. But when you have two people working together to spot out the letters it helps. My hardest letter to find was B, which I finally saw in the paintings by the art room. Best letter was the "e" because the railing were able to emphasize it by changing its levels and cropping. The letter I had the most fun finding overall was "K" using the trophy in the lobby and by changing my angles around the trophy case, I was able to capture it.
Selective Color: Using the 3 primary colors we were instructed to remove everything else into black and white and bring back those three colors Red, Blue, and Yellow. I really like how the details of color are brought out by the black and white backgrounds. I did enjoy searching for photos because this school has a lot of Red and Blue in it. My favorite photo is the bottom middle one because it is so simple but provided such an interesting layout. Least Favorite photo is of the flags wish I could've fit more of the colors into the image.
Textures: The main idea of the project was to capture texture. This project was difficult because there is a lot of the same repeating textures and I was trying to collect a variety. My favorite photo is silky because of the way the light hit the cloth. My second favorite was slimy because it's the idea of algae and how it feels that create the texture slimy. Bumpy was a very interesting texture to find but I found it walking around the pods when I came across the mat.
Color Replacement: This project was fun trying to find your favorite color around the school. This is a pretty easy project if your favorite color are the school colors. Mine was Blue so it was easy to find in the school however it was hard to find the same shade of blue. The process it takes to change the color was not difficult at all unless your photo had a lot of details. What I have noticed from this project is it is hard to get all corners and straight lines when selecting areas to work with.
